KATHMANDU (A CITY RICH WITH ART, HISTORY & CULTURE)

Kathmandu
is the capital city of Nepal. It is the home to many Hindu temples and Buddhist Pilgrimages. Despite of being busy and hectic city it has never stop being attraction to travellers. Some of the major UNESCO world heritage sites that are situated in this city are: Swyambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square,  Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square. Besides the UNESCO sites it also offers a great shopping destination for travellers at a very reasonable and cheap price. Thamel is the place where you can find hand crafted goods like Pashminas, Singing bowls, Thankas, Khukuris, Hemp bags & many more.  It is also known as the Heart of the city & probably the Cannabis Capital. Back in the 1960s, the Hippie Trail began to route young western adventurers through Nepal. The stable traditional cannabis economy was rocked by the influx of demand, and the heavy usage by visitors normalized and made trendy cannabis consumption locally. Many Bollywood & Hollywood movies were shoot in Kathmandu on that time like Dum Maro Dum. Besides Cannabis, local  foods are also must try when in Kathmandu. Some of the local foods such as Laphing, Momo, Shyabhale, Newari Platter, Thakali set, Dhido set. The flavors and blends of spices explode in your mouth leaving you craving for more.
